Jeff Knowles:
I am a neuroscience PhD candidate at UC San Francisco where I study the neural mechanisms of sound sequence discrimination in the auditory cortex of zebra finches. Previously, I worked on the neural mechanisms and behavioral strategies that enable big brown bats to navigate by echolocation.
In addition to my scientific research work, I have many years of experience developing software and hardware to control experiments and analyze large datasets in neuroscience and beyond.
I am also an avid sailor and kitesurfer and spend as much of my spare time as possible getting out on the ocean in one way or another.
